American Psychological Association Convention 2008

From Non-Violent Uprising

There has been a proposal to purchase a booth at the APA 2008 Convention. Why is this a good idea? Scientology hates the APA (because it is one of the organizations most likely to reveal their absurd brainwashing techniques). Psychologists and Psychiatrists understandably have a low opinion of Scientology. Perhaps they would like to support our cause monetarily?

Price: $950 minimum (this is not actually a terribly high price as far as conference booths go)

$950 spent here, resulting in donations, could pay back many times over. Discuss:

FSCLoLRonHubbard: epic idea is epic. i would love to attend and i will pay for as much as i can. i haven't been this excited since i heard that the next protest (SeaArrrgh) would be pirate themed. but i am moar excited about this

PLyTheMan: Sounds like a real slick idea to me. Any anons Psych Majors or know their shit? I know we know a good amount about Scientology and their brainwashing techniques, but we would really need to find someone that knows about psychology and integrate it into a good presentation. Also, would we be face fagging at this? Sounds like a more proffessional enviroment so they might take us more seriously without masks on.

herbert: good idea. need to try and keep this on the down low if there are going to be unmasked anons there. Personally, I think although we will be taken less seriously, the masks are our trade mark now. It clearly identifies us as anonymous less so in my opinion than someone unmasked.

RD_Blade: Sounds brilliant. I'll give what little I can for this.

JoshTheater: Amazing idea! Don't forget this.

Gregg: I love it. Simple as that, we should do this.

clu-: awesome idea. i would want to go as i have been on many medications and this subject matter affects me personally in many ways.

rickglass: I'm in, I really like this idea. Being a problem child (ADHD), I have seen many social workers and psychologists, and been on an insane amount of drugs, and for a while before I went to college I was seriously considering social work or psychiatry. Scientology's stance on something I have been dealing with all my life has always angered me.

Mr.Kite: I will donate as necessary if I can, money is being saved for Gregg in my family but the idea is awesome. If we get a booth I would love to help staff it, psychology helped my family a lot.
